Background check is often use by employers during a hiring process as a means of judging a job candidate’s past mistakes, character, fitness, and to identify potential hiring risks. Checks are frequently conducted to confirm information found on an employment application or curriculum vitae.

The amount of information included on a background check depends to a large degree on the sensitivity of the reason for which it is conducted. Many employers choose to search the most common record such as criminal records, education verification, reference checks, credit reports or ID verification. Background check is usually conducted by HR manager strictly according internal rules and processes, with not enough relevant information and under time pressure.
